A clean, bright, inexpensive diner where great breakfast is always served with a smile: what's not to love about Surfside? We've been coming here regularly for a couple of years and it's been fantastic every time. A few highlights: -Their omelets: They are perfect! Flavourful, done but not overdone, never greasy, never overly salty - just a clean, nourishing, delicious omelet. I get mine with Swiss cheese, but you can customise yours at will. Omelet dishes also come with a toast (mine: rye, buttered!) and a choice of arugula salad or home fries. You can also ask for a mini fruit cup (typically honeydew, melon, strawberries and grapes). -The Morning Glory muffin: Amazing! It's a carrot cake-like muffin with dried raisins and cinnamon. Not wild about raisins but there aren't too many that it's horrible: au contraire, it's actually delicious. Get it buttered and toasted! -The chocolate cake: It's the real thing! A tall tower-like chocolate cake with generous amounts of rich chocolate icing sandwiched in between each layers. The slice is huge and ample enough for two hungry eaters to fight for. It's so good that yes, you will fight for it. -The oatmeal: It's real, steel cut oatmeal. If you're on the healthy side, you'll love it: brown sugar, raisins, and walnuts are all served on the side, allowing you to make your own little mixture. Oatmeal isn't my thing, but I've had a few spoonfuls (it's my better half's favourite breakfast item) and I must say: it's delicious. So-so: -The pancakes: True, they're huge, golden, and taste ok, and you'll get plenty of syrup to drown them in no matter what, but they are just that: ok.. For me, they are way too thick, dense, and boring in taste. They'd be much better if they were a lot fluffier. -The omelet skillet: boring, yet a lot going on. Skip: -The burger and fries: Fries are extra, and not worth it. It would all be ok if the burger were up to standard, but it's not. Bun is boring, meat is boring, not juicy, always overdone - in short, blend. -The French toast: Disappointing. Way, way, way too done and dry. Not enough batter is dipped into the toasts, which are boring as it is and super thin. Powdered sugar and syrup miserably fails to save them. The atmosphere: Clean, modern, marine chic. It's Palm Beach, so lots of characters come in, which makes it quite entertaining if you're into people watching. Too many kids to my liking on the weekend, but they're generally well behaved.

So happy I stopped into this little diner over the weekend! The atmosphere, service and food were all top-notch. I actually came across this place thanks to Yelp. I was looking for a brunch option after doing a long run past the beach on Palm Beach and this was the top recommendation. Once I finished up my miles, I hopped in the car and took a ride over to the Surfside Diner. The diner was pretty busy but there wasn't a wait. I was able to grab a seat at the bar/counter area. I was waited on immediately and since I was so hungry promptly ordered an egg white omelet. Now, the omelet itself isn't super pricy, but when you add all of the extra stuff in it, it really starts to get expensive. My egg white omelet was almost $15! But I figured it was a special occasion since I was leaving town and I had just run so far. The omelet was excellent -- probably one of the better ones I've ever had. It was put together perfectly and the arugula salad served with it was also excellent! There was a whole area of cakes and cookies that I would love to try the next time I come in. Definitely a great little addition to the island food scene and a wonderful breakfast option if you're looking to dine in Palm Beach.

Great cafe with amazing staff and yummy food. The fish tacos came with fresh blackened mahi and pico de gallo and house made guacamole were the perfect condiments. The tortilla chips that the tacos came with was sprinkled with some cumin which was such a tasty little surprise and gave this classic a nice new touch. Yum!

After adjusting to the fact that nothing opens early in Palm Beach wet set our sights on Surfside Diner for breakfast. We arrived just prior to their opening at 8am and easily found street parking nearby. This is Palm Beach -- just blocks away from Worth Avenue so we were prepared for the pricing (note: this isn't Waffle House; so breakfast for two will cost more than $12). That said this is a very clean diner with counter service in the center and booths along with sides and a healthy menu vs a greasy spoon. We were very happy with our breakfast. The ingredients were fresh and perfectly prepared. Our servers was friendly and prompt. There are plenty of menu options. We focused in on the the two and three egg options. Hubby had a three-egg omlete with onions and I had two eggs scrambled. Both options come with toast and home fries of arugula salad. The multi-grain toast looked homemade/bakery made and was thickly sliced. Coffee was diner-worthy. Nothing to write home about. Great start to the day in the Florida sunshine.

This place absolutely crushes omelettes! One of the most delicious and inexpensive omelettes I've ever had (be warned, requesting more than 3 ingredients to add can get pricey). They also served gluten free bread at no extra charge so have earned a permanent place in my heart. Coffee was delicious and service was wonderful. Great place for brunch if you are in the area!

Great high-end diner for breakfast, with reasonable prices. We went here for Sunday breakfast and it was fantastic. The diner is very clean and modern looking inside. The waitstaff was perfect: efficient and friendly. I had the Florentine Benedict and my better half had eggs. Both were delivered very quickly, with great presentation, quality, and simply delicious. The crowds in this place were down-to-earth too. Feel free to come in your Sunday casuals and relax. Great place!

Incredible blueberry pancakes and very solid patty melt. What else could you ask for from a diner. Good atmosphere, service, etc. A quality spot to drop in when in Palm Beach.

Had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. Very nice and clean inside. Typical Palm Beach crowd. Had to wait about 10 - 15 for a table...could've sat at the counter but we needed a high chair. Staff was very friendly and prompt. Menu is limited and definitely on the pricey side for breakfast. We both tried different Benedicts, my wife the Palm Beacher, and I tried the standard. We also ordered blueberry pancakes for the baby. Food was good...I had a small issue which was quickly resolved with my order. I think they might cure and smoke their own smoked salmon. Pancakes were the best part of the meal. Overall...it's ok, but be prepared to spend more than usual for breakfast without having the perks of alcohol to offset that cost. Cost was $46 before tip. If you like overpriced breakfast/diner food, I recommend City Diner as well.

Everyone was sad to see Hamburger Heaven go but this replacement is much better. Healthy takes on the diner standards but with an updated, clean, hip feel this is the go to breakfast and lunch spot in town. Fresh and inventive muffins are excellent. Power start breakfast is perfect for crossfit-ers. Mains are consistent and filling and everyone stays hydrated with the big coke glass of water without asking. Go before or after the beach and walk to the classic book shop one door down.

There's something affordable in downtown Palm Beach! Fresh ingredients, well prepared. Reasonable prices. Great service. Zero pretense. Hard to believe it's Palm Beach. It's just a shame that they don't open for dinner. I've only been the once, but from what we ate and what we saw, there's not much to complain about. Portions are large and food is excellent!

We came here per yelp review. The service & fast were very fast and the food was super cold. Both mine & my girlfriend. For the price & location it should have been much better.

This is an unusual restaurant in palm beach. People are sitting around in shorts and flip flops, made me feel like I dressed too nice. The food is inexpensive and good. Good ingredients, much better than other inexpensive breakfast places. I got poached eggs with toast and arugula salad. You won't find a balanced nutritional breakfast like this anywhere nearby. The only problem is they open at 8am or 10:30 am during the summer. Its a good start for your day if your day starts late.

  • Sandra F.

Love this place! The food is very good, fresh, and not greasy like other diners. I usually get the power scramble with the arugula salad and it has been very consistent. The one minor problem? The service if you sit down at a table and not the bar. The servers I have had while sitting down seem to have a bad attitude and don't always get things right. My friend asked for a scramble with bacon and cheese last time and neither came in his meal. The owner however, is really great and welcoming and even gave us an amazing cookie our first time there, noticing we were new.

  • Jen S.

My wife and came here and they made one mistake after another on our food. First they put the side of chicken sausage in her ate and she doesn't eat meat. They brought my omelette without cheese and I ordered cheese. They brought my wife's breakfast (after getting her a clean plate without meat) without toast. We complained and a manager never came over. It doesn't seem that they care much unless you are local customer. The coffee was very weak. On the plus side was above average and the espresso was good. (This review was written by Jen's husband Brad)

This place is amazing! We went for Sunday Brunch. My husband ordered the classic and I had the French toast with strawberries. Everything was exquisite. The ambiance was a great combination of old palm beach with modern touch. Very clean and the prices are reasonable. Found a new favorite Brunch place in the area. Love it!

This was the first time here and it is a nice place to grab breakfast, especially since there are very few places open on a Sunday morning in Palm Beach. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. I had the omelet which was very good and the right size. I would recommend this place.

Fresh organic take on basic diner food, menu not very extensive. Very expensive though, breakfast for 2 was $35, OJ, or grapefruit juice was $4, (in FL?), and couldn't believe they charged $3 for maple syrup. Parking on street is difficult and only allowed for 1 hr. Fortunately we eat fast!

Attractive very white and bright interior. Plenty of space, and not crowded on a Sunday. Not exactly surfside in its location, but a short walk from the beach and an easy stroll to the area's major shopping. Very clean. I think it's new. Expensive, but it's Palm Beach and I suspect other places are just as expensive and probably more snooty. I liked the people and the warm vibe. Friendly, attentive servers. Decent and bottomless coffee.Try the various benedicts. Very tasty.
